Description

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead the end-to-end procurement function across the Group’s mining, construction and corporate operations.

The successful candidate will develop procurement strategies and ensure the timely, cost-effective and compliant acquisition of goods, works, equipment and services.

The role covers tendering, bills of quantities, equipment purchases, rentals, hires, leases, contracts, supplier management and corporate procurement. The Procurement Manager will also lead the procurement team, strengthen internal controls and deliver measurable value across the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional procurement qualification, such as CIPS, is an advantage.
  • Six to eight years of progressive procurement experience.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a procurement management or leadership position.
  • Procurement experience in mining, construction, engineering or a related industry is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of tendering, bid evaluation, BOQs, contracts, equipment procurement, leases and supplier management.
  • Demonstrated experience negotiating commercial agreements and managing contractors.
  • Knowledge of procurement policies, budgets, approval controls and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience using ERP or electronic procurement systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong integrity, accountability and attention to detail.
  • Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Group procurement strategies, policies and annual plans.
  • Lead tendering processes, evaluate bids and negotiate contracts.
  • Review BOQs, specifications and technical drawings to determine procurement requirements.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers and contractors.
  • Manage supplier relationships, performance and contract compliance.
  • Oversee equipment purchases, rentals, hires and leases.
  • Procure goods, works and services for mining, construction and corporate operations.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, approved budgets and internal controls.
  • Manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, expediting, deliveries and invoice verification.
  • Coordinate with Finance to ensure invoices match approved orders and delivered items.
  • Monitor procurement expenditure and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Maintain accurate procurement, tendering, supplier and contract records.
  • Prepare procurement reports and present performance updates to management.
  • Manage procurement risks, supplier disputes and delivery delays.
  • Lead, supervise and develop the procurement team.
  • Promote transparent, ethical and competitive procurement practices.
