Description

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Fleet and Transport Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operation, maintenance and administration of the company’s fleet in Ghana.

The successful candidate will ensure that vehicles and heavy equipment are available, properly maintained, legally compliant and safely operated. The role includes managing drivers, coordinating routes, tracking fleet performance and preparing operational reports.

Requirements

  • HND or Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Transport Management, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience in fleet or transport operations.
  • Experience managing vehicles, trucks or heavy equipment within mining, construction or a related industry.
  • Practical experience using GPS vehicle-tracking and fleet-management systems.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance planning and repair coordination.
  • Understanding of vehicle licensing, insurance, roadworthiness and other statutory requirements.
  • Strong driver-supervision and route-planning experience.
  • Good communication, reporting and computer skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Valid Ghanaian driving licence.
  • Strong organisational, leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce company fleet and transport policies.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance, servicing and repairs.
  • Monitor vehicle condition, availability, utilisation and downtime.
  • Prepare daily routes and work schedules for drivers.
  • Monitor vehicles and drivers using GPS tracking systems.
  • Ensure vehicle insurance, roadworthiness, licences and other statutory documents are renewed on time.
  • Monitor driver conduct, speeding, fuel consumption and vehicle safety.
  • Investigate accidents, vehicle damage and transport-related incidents.
  • Maintain vehicle service histories, fuel records and maintenance documentation.
  • Coordinate the assignment and movement of vehicles and equipment.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly fleet-performance reports.
  • Recommend measures to reduce fuel costs, maintenance expenses and vehicle downtime.
  • Ensure drivers conduct and record pre-start vehicle inspections.
  • Promote compliance with company HSE and road-safety requirements.
