Requirements
Proven experience in community relations, stakeholder engagement, or community development, preferably within the mining industry.
Strong knowledge of land acquisition, compensation, resettlement, and stakeholder engagement processes.
Excellent communication, negotiation, conflict-resolution, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse communities and stakeholders.
Strong understanding of ethical practices, sustainable development, and responsible mining.
Knowledge of relevant Ghanaian mining, land, environmental, and community-relations regulations would be an advantage.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement community engagement strategies and programs.
Follow up on recommendations from socio-economic baseline studies and ensure their implementation.
Lead stakeholder consultations and community outreach activities.
Prepare and coordinate community engagement activities ahead of public hearings and mining-related approvals.
Coordinate land acquisition processes, including crop valuation and land deprivation compensation.
Support the acquisition of land required for resettlement or relocation.
Coordinate resettlement activities for communities or households affected by proposed mining operations.
Ensure community-related activities comply with Minerals Commission (MinCom) requirements and applicable laws.
Maintain effective relationships with traditional authorities, local government, landowners, community leaders, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
Identify and resolve community concerns, grievances, and potential conflicts.
Prepare reports on community relations activities, stakeholder engagement, compensation, and resettlement.
